Maybe not exactly a ‘movement’, but WordPress is certainly a community and it definitely tries to make its contribution to a more open and shared society, both online and offline. It’s a big international family working to make internet more accessible to everybody, based one fundamental idea: open source!
Milan and surrounding cities like Verona and Torino are lucky to have quite a large and active community.
