MEGA = BACK to our COMMUNITY!
Once there was a dream, a European Dream. The dream of a European COMMUNITY from, for and by the people. Unfortunately, in 1989, the EC was degraded to an ordinary ‘common’ MARKET (sold as «Union») from, for and by banksters, monopolistic corporations and corrupt politicians.
In 1989 it was decided in Maastricht that our lovely Community had to be relabled as «Union». Nobody ever understood why the name had to be changed, but over the years it became clear that Europa wasn’t about being a COMMUNITY anymore. Because this cluster of European countries was not for, from and by the people anymore, it had become for, from and by banks and profit-hungry corporations and corrupt politicians. More than a «Union» Europa simply was turned into an ordinary «common» MARKET, for those same banks, corporations and politicians. That’s what the open borders, free movements of persons and goods, and a unified central bank coin was really all about. Not so much for the people, but for the elites to take advantage of. There’s a whole political history behind this, but the point is that to Make Europa Great Again, for the common citizens instead of for the corporate elites Europa should be turn back to being a COMMUNITY again! Not just in name, but especially in mindset. In the real sense of what a community is supposed to be: a diversity of people that work and collaborate together for the common goal of collective happiness, peace and security. As a family, as friends. NOT as businesses and clients, or worse, masters and slaves which is where Europa has been heading for over the last years, especially since EUrsula and her gang.
What does it mean to become a Community of countries again?
- In the first place MEGA! means respect for our rich variety of cultures, languages and the sovereignty of each individual country. Culturodiversity is for human society what biodiversity is for nature and probably no other territory in the world has a greater concentration of culturodiversity than Europa has. This should be taken care of, not squandered.
- The basic needs of the citizens and the society as a whole should be covered by the Community or each individual state and not be just an asset, property or cash-cow of a whatever monopoly-driven and profit-hungry faceless company. Obviously this would include amongst other: water, food, energy, transport, infrastructure, communication, education and health. The existence of competitive profit-driven corporate alternatives could be allowed as well, but they should not have a monopoly or any control over of these sectors. This is in fact how Europa bloomed before 1989, when neo-liberalist politics of fully non-regulated markets took over Europa, following the US & UK.
The free market mechanism, in practice, is simply not «free». It is essentially just in the hands and under control of the few biggest player(s) – generally corporations from the stock market. That is clearly to be seen in the US, who’s «example» has been followed by Europa since WW II and more explicitely after 1989. If it wasn’t because of still existing differences between the countries Europa would have ended up exactly like the US, as a tasteless homogeneous cheese. This was definitely not the idea of the original Europan Community Dream. - In fact, Europa should stop following the US so much and stand on own its feet by its own force, capacities and policies.
